The at 糖心国产传媒 is pleased to welcome physicists, students, educators, and researchers to the 93rd Annual Meeting of the Southeastern Section of the American Physical Society (SESAPS 2026), taking place November 12鈥�14, 2026, at the 糖心国产传媒 Center in 糖心国产传媒, Georgia.

SESAPS 2026 will bring together the physics community from across the Southeast for scientific sessions, student oral and poster presentations, networking, professional development, and annual SESAPS activities and awards. Undergraduate and graduate students are especially encouraged to attend, present their work, and connect with faculty, researchers, graduate programs, and peers from across the region.

    About SESAPS

    The Southeastern Section of the American Physical Society (SESAPS) was established in 1937 to advance and share physics knowledge across the southeastern United States. The section serves physicists in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

    The annual SESAPS meeting brings together faculty, researchers, postdoctoral scholars, graduate and undergraduate students, and educators for research presentations, physics education discussions, student engagement, and community-building across the discipline.

     

    Program Overview

    The SESAPS 2026 program will feature invited and contributed talks, poster presentations, student-focused activities, networking opportunities, and annual SESAPS events and awards. Final session topics, invited speakers, and the detailed schedule will be posted as they become available.

    • Scientific sessions: Invited and contributed talks across physics research and education.
    • Student poster session: A dedicated opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to present their research and receive feedback.
    • Student presentation awards: Recognition for outstanding student oral and poster presentations.
    • Banquet and awards: A conference banquet and annual SESAPS award recognitions, pending final program details.
    • Networking: Opportunities to connect with researchers, educators, students, and regional physics organizations.
    • SESAPS recognizes excellence in teaching, service, and research through the Pegram, Slack, and Beams Awards. Award recipients will be announced during the meeting banquet.       Registration includes access to all scientific sessions, coffee breaks, and the conference reception. Banquet tickets will be available for an additional fee.

      Sponsored exhibitor booths: will be available with a minimum sponsorship contribution of $500.

    • Sponsorship opportunities are available for exhibit booths and several SESAPS 2026 events, including coffee breaks, breakfast, the Career Workshop Lunch, the student poster session, and the conference banquet. Sponsorship opportunities range from $600 to $10,000, with benefits that include meeting registration and conference passes, depending on the sponsorship level.

    • Airport

      The closest major airport is Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). Attendees should plan for ground transportation from ATL to 糖心国产传媒; travel time will vary depending on traffic.

      Driving Directions

      From I-75, take Exit 271 / Chastain Road, follow Chastain Road toward Busbee Drive NW, and continue to 糖心国产传媒 Center. Additional directions and drop-off details will be posted closer to the meeting.

      Ground Transportation

      Ride share, taxi, and rental cars are convenient options for travel between ATL, 糖心国产传媒, nearby hotels, and local restaurants. Public transportation is also available through MARTA and CobbLinc; attendees should check current schedules before travel.

      Free event parking will be available for SESAPS 2026 attendees in designated 糖心国产传媒 Center parking lots during the conference dates. No permits or parking vouchers will be required in the approved event lots.

    Student Travel Support and Awards

    Travel support is available for undergraduate and graduate students in the SESAPS region who are SESAPS members and first authors on research papers presented at the meeting. APS members may join SESAPS at no cost by selecting 鈥淛oin This Unit鈥� on the SESAPS website.

    Approximately $10,000 in travel support will be available, with awards of up to $500 per student. The application deadline will be one week after the abstract submission deadline.
