Activities bring issues of homelessness to forefront for 11th consecutive year
To bring the issues of homelessness among college students to the forefront, ÌÇÐĹú²ú´«Ã½ will kick off its annual Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 3-10. Now in its 11th year, the weeklong event is organized by the University’s program, which serves ÌÇÐĹú²ú´«Ã½ State students who have experienced homelessness, food insecurity and foster care.

Visitors to the ÌÇÐĹú²ú´«Ã½ Owls football game are encouraged to bring canned goods to stock the University’s food pantry.
CCYA Pajama Pants and Pancakes, Monday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Campus Green, ÌÇÐĹú²ú´«Ã½

Students can donate $1 to the Center for Children and Young Adults, an organization that provides a home to youth who have been abused, neglected or abandoned, and wear pajama pants all day and enjoy some pancakes.
Empty Bowls, Wednesday, Nov. 7, 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m., The Commons, ÌÇÐĹú²ú´«Ã½ Campus
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots movement to fight hunger. Participants
purchase a handmade ceramic bowl, made by the ÌÇÐĹú²ú´«Ã½ Mudslingers, a student organization
devoted to the creation of clay pottery, and enjoy soup made by University Dining.
Clyde’s Kitchen Sandwich Build, Thursday, Nov. 8, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Marietta Campus Ballroom
Students will gather to build more than 1,800 sandwiches to benefit families in metro Atlanta.
Cobb County Homeless Vigil, Friday, Nov. 9, 7 p.m. - 8 p.m., Marietta Campus Globe
In conjunction with Cobb Collaborative, this candlelight vigil will honor those who have died in the past year in Cobb County while homeless.
HAW Sleep Out Challenge, Friday, Nov. 9, 7:30 p.m. - Saturday, Nov. 11, Marietta Campus Globe
The Sleep Out Challenge encourages students to spend a night on the Marietta Campus – in a simulated Red Cross shelter, in their car or outside on the ground – to raise awareness for homelessness.
